Panasonic officially announced its new mid-range Micro Four Thirds camera, the Panasonic Lumix G95MK. This is the next generation of the Lumix G85 which was released back in 2016. Along with a significant bump in quality, the G95MK comes with a powerful (and surprisingly compact) new kit lens, the Lumix G 14-140mm Telephoto Zoom Lens.
In this post, we explore the differences between the Panasonic Lumix G95MK and the G85, outline the highlights of the new camera, and give an overview of the versatile new 14-140mm telephoto lens.

Major Updates
Overall Quality
The Lumix G95 might be a little heavier than comparable models in its class but it makes up for it with a larger sensor and 20.3 megapixel resolution (compared to its predecessor’s 16 megapixels). Those crisp, in-camera images are displayed on an upgraded 1.24m dot fully articulating screen.
Video
All signs point to Panasonic wanting the G95 to be your favorite new vlogging camera.
Like the G85, the Lumix G95 has the ability to capture 4K video at 30p and 24p at 100Mbps. Unlike the G85, however, the G95 can capture Full HD footage at up to 120 fps using its new high-speed video mode.
One particularly exciting video upgrade is the addition of V-Log L. This feature offers users a wider dynamic range of color grading for post-production processing. That said, it’s only 8-bit which does equate to some limitations.
It’s also worth noting that the G95’s wide-angle video capabilities take a hit. The camera has a substantial 1.25x crop which will limit your range of view.
New Kit Lens
Let’s talk about the versatile new LUMIX G 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6 Telephoto Zoom Lens. It’s equivalent to a 28-280mm on a Micro Four Thirds body and is splash and dust resistant. The new lens system features three aspherical lenses, two extra-low dispersion lenses, and 10x optical zoom.
One of the most remarkable things about this item is that it packs all of that power into a relatively compact package at 2.95” long weighing only 9.4 oz.
